Goals For Ramadan

Asaalam-U-Alaikum,
After having watched another video by Hisham-Al-Hadi, despite the fact that I had already decided upon a topic for this post to be based around today, I came to the conclusion that it is important to set your Ramadan Goals earlier, rather than later. This is because Insha-Allah, through that you are enabled to imply them into your preparation for Ramadan, helping you to achieve these goals. Therefore, I am going to set my five goals, today, along with you readeries.

Ponder carefully over what it is that you wish to achieve this Ramadan, consider what you would like to continue doing after Ramadan, for example, if at current you do not pray on time, then it automatically becomes almost compulsory for you to aim to be much more punctual in regards to your Namaaz. Perhaps you had aimed to do something the previous year, which you failed to accomplish, and therefore, wish to try and do so again this year Insha-Allah.

My excitement for the upcoming Ramadan is forever increasing, and I yearn to feel the blessings of the month. How can one not take advantage of this beautiful time of the year? Therefore, I personally feel setting goals become almost compulsory, as they are not only practical, but also motivational.

Once you have written down your five goals, ensure that your preparations for Ramadan are somewhat linked to them, helping you to achieve them.

I pray you do, along with me.
May Allah grant us success.
Ameen.

Pre-Ramadan Fasts

Asaalam-U-Alaikum
I'm unsure whether I should look at this current moment in time as painful due to my aching arm (booooo.....) or whether I should smile, and have a positive outlook on this current moment in time, simply due to the fact that I am now to write another blog post on Ramadan prep Insha-Allah.

Usually, it takes the first ten days of Ramadan to get use to the actual concept of not eating or drinking for a number of hours, and the hunger and thirst can become slightly more intense during summer. However, a recommended tip to help one get used to this before hand in order to concentrate on the blessings of the month, is to fast Pre-Ramadan, and perhaps (just maybe...) with the right intention, you may gain some reward...

Personally, I recommend fasting on Thursdays and Mondays, as it is Sunnah (a practise of the Prophet PBUH) to fast on these days.

As a side note, fasting a few days before Ramadan, is a bit of a dodgy area, personally, I recommend doing some research into this area in order to find out more, as I, myself, hope to Insha-Allah.

Asaalam-U-Alaikum!

Rajab and Sha'baan (Ramadhan Segment)

Asaalam-U-Alaikum,
Seeing as around now would be the time when I would consider closing my eyes and hoping for dreams of sweet musings and thoughts, I need to set a limit of time for my writing.

Rajab, the Islamic month which begun on Tuesday, was actually the month from which the Prophet (PBUH) begun to prepare for Ramadan. Every night (until Ramadan) he would read:

ALLAH HUM-MA BAARIK LANAA FEE RAJAB WA SHA'BAAN WA BAL-LIGNAA-ILA RAMADHAAN.

(Oh Allah bless me in the months of Rajab and Sha'baan and let me reach to Ramadan.)

Ramadan is the blessed month in which we fast and attempt to devote some more time towards Ibadah (worship). Ramadan is the month in which we almost train ourselves up for the rest of the year.

Insha-Allah, I will be updating this post with my preparations for Ramadan, remember to grasp hold of every Ramadan and be thankful for it, use the blessed month wisely, as you never know whether or not you will be able to see the next...
