Where you been? First ten days of Ramadan update.

Asaalam-U-Alaikum,
So Happy Muslimah, where you been? The answer is simple readeries, the month of Ramadan is indulging to such an extent, that one cannot spend even a second of it upon the Internet.

Ameen.

However, seeing as the eleventh fast is approaching quickly (meaning the first ten are over), I came to the conclusion that it would be best to quickly post an update full of Ramadan experiences, musings, newly discovered tips and of-course: plenty of smiles!

Recently, I decided to download the 'Ramadan Action Planner', and Allhamdullilah, it has been of great use, from enabling me to ponder more in depth into how and why I need to carry out certain actions during Ramadan to simply instructing me to perform one specific good deed a day, It has been (Insha-Allah) useful.

Pre-Ramadan, whilst putting together my plans for the upcoming month, I attempted to assemble a list of distractions I thought might eventually clash with my time table during Ramadan. Obviously, You Tube and social networks were a part of these. I have found that every single text alert I hear, I feel a sudden urge to see and reply to the message, even if it's just a "Hi. If you also find yourself in this situation during Ramadan, I suggest turning off your phone Wifi and Data Network, or turning your phone off altogether until a time at which you can reply to your messages without them interrupting your day.

Finally, the only other thing I have found destroying my preparations during Ramadan has been those moments in which I convince myself I will 'only' spend a minute or two doing any activity other than Ibadah, but later find myself having spent more than an hour, or even several hours doing so! One way to rid of this problem would be self-motivation. Every time you have the slightest thought of enjoining in any unproductive activity, if you can, remind yourself of how much use it truly is and refuse to do it!

I recommend reflecting upon the first ten days to better your next twenty days of Ramadan, remember: we only get this blessed month once a year- so benefit from it.
I pray that every single day of Ramadan is beneficial for you, and that this Ramadan will be your best yet.
Ameen

Asaalam-U-Alaikum
